Day 2 of Shared Inquiry

Part of Shared Inquiry is reading a text over and over to find and appreciate the subtleties that the author has included for you.

Read "The Veldt" again today using the copy I made for you. Mark each spot where the parents are being good parents or bad parents.

Use

G = they are being good parents

B = they are being bad parents

Be prepared to explain why you marked these spots the way you did. You will use this as a tool in your discussion and it will be a part of your grade.

If you finish early and cooperated with the teacher, then you may play on the computers.

Shared Inquiry Begins This Week

This week, we will engage in a process called Shared Inquiry. This video gives an overview of the process, and, even though the children in the video are in third grade, it can give you an idea of what we are doing--though we will be at a higher level.

For day 1, we will work together to choose and read a story after we watch this video. Once we finish that, we'll begin to record our questions and share them with each other.

Its about four young boys having a band! and they ar not that good, and ther dream is to be famouse and give out autographs! but until theyre about to go and perform one of them half to leave becouse of a family emergency, and when theyr on the stage they playd the 1st not of the song and it was bad, until the drummer made a steady beat it put them on track and the croud turned back around and started cheering! and when they were done they were all cheering happy and they gave out alot of autographs
