Week 2: Thanks for Giving Your Best!

Deris, Alexis, DaNaysha, and Tyzariah during the first week of school, working together as a team.
Corbin, Aron, Moises, and Edgar share their team name and cheer.

Ernesto, Vicente, Val, and Jose were almost too cool to let me take this picture. But then they let me. Notice it's raining outside on our first day of school. Blah!

George, Juan, Omar, and Jose get ready to present to the class. Omar is NOT picking his nose, but I'm not sure what he IS doing.

Monique and Taylor, best friends and close cousins, smile for the camera.

Alexis works hard on the Gates-MacGinnitie test we took the second week of school.
Tajanna, Chris, Jose and Toni work on the same test.

We've just finished week 2 of school here at Marshall Middle School. After meeting many parents at Open House on Thursday night and spending a couple of weeks with my wonderful students, I just have one thing to say:

Thank you for giving your best!

Meet Your Teachers!

Mrs. Ott: This is my 11th year teaching but only my second year teaching 7th grade. I love it! I have four kids (you can see them below in a picture from Christmastime). I'm originally from Texas and still go back to visit every chance I get!

Mrs. Malicoat taught for 13 years before coming to Marshall as a literacy coach. She'll be in our room with us frequently. She has three daughters whom you just might see sometime this year!

Ms. Payne loves to salsa dance and has been teaching for a lot of years. She's originally from Oklahoma and has two sons who both attend school at Marshall.

Mr. Russell is currently finishing his studies in literature at Wichita State University. He and his wife have two boys. A really cool thing about him is that he can speak Spanish!
